A Few of Our Favorite Things
In honor of the holidays, we thought we’d use this month’s blog post to share some of our favorite things. Hopefully this helps give you ideas or inspiration for those on your gift-giving list.
Assorted resistance bands: A set of resistance bands offers a versatile method for working out in a convenient manner. They are lightweight, versatile, usually vary in resistance, and typically pack up in a small bag. This allows the ability to complete an all-inclusive workout virtually anywhere.
Workout shoes: There are many different types of workout shoes available. Certain shoes will provide different advantages for different modalities of exercise. Having the correct shoe for a specific application can make a vast difference in performance.
Speaker/earphones: For individuals who could use the extra motivation from music during their workouts, a good speaker or headphones will go a long way. The music choice for a workout can make the difference between a rewarding workout or a mediocre one.
Foam roller: Spending a few minutes foam rolling each night while watching your favorite show can be a game-changer when it comes to recovery. Foam rolling helps increase circulation giving your body some relief from aches and pains.
Stainless steel water bottle: This type of water bottle is ideal because it’s non-toxic and helps your water stay cold for longer periods of time. If you get one that’s 32 oz. or larger, you only have to refill it a time or two to get all of your water in for the day! Bonus if it is shaped in a way to fit in your cup holder :).
Migraine/headache relief cap: This is a great option that offers natural relief for headaches, migraines, and tension in the head and neck. Nicole loves using it for pain relief without needing medication!
Percussive massage device (Theragun, for example): These devices are used to treat and relieve muscle soreness, stiffness and inflammation, and increase the range of motion.
Oura ring (or other wearable fitness tracker): These tools can be a great way to monitor your health and wellness goals and help you stay on track.
A good blender: Smoothies can be a great quick and easy breakfast-on-the-go, post-workout recovery snack, or even a healthy snack before an event where you might not know if the food they are serving fits into your nutritional needs. A good blender can make a difference in the taste and texture of your smoothie.
A diffuser and essential oils: A lot of the candles out there can contain synthetic fragrances that release harmful chemicals into the air when burned. Essential oils can be a safer, non-toxic option to freshen up your environment.
